Friendly, experienced, honest, and talented is the experienced and long established owner of this shop. The best salon in all of PA. Let us please be mindful that she is a 1 person operation. That means being considerate of her time. She appreciates an appointment like any other business and takes walk ins at her discretion.
Not a nice experience at all. Very disappointed. I stopped over in the early afternoon on a weekday with my three children. I could not tell you the owners name because she did not introduce herself or say anything. There was one person in the chair having her hair done and nobody else in the shop besides the owner. She simply tilted her chin up and leaned forward when I opened the door to the salon and then waited for me to explain why we were there. I asked if she took walk ins (because I was under the impression that she did, but her body language and facial expressions said otherwise). She was very short with me & told me no not today. I have long wavy and curly hair past my waist, and I could understand her not wanting to take me on the spur of the moment if she was pressed for time. So, just to quickly clarify, I told her it was only for my 6 year old son. I told her we’d already been to 2 barber shops in the area— 1 who never answers their phone, so they always have a long line of walk ins since that’s the only way they can get in, and told us there was a 3 hour wait, and the other one who had a note on their door that they were closed. I explained that this was the second day we’d been trying to get his haircut & asked if she knew any other place we could go to in the area. She simply shrugged her shoulders at me dismissively and said, “You’ll have to drive out to Wilkes Barre or Hazleton.” Now, I understand being busy or having an off day. I usually don’t leave bad reviews and I know stresses sometimes get the best of all of us. I have 3 kids & am often under constant stress for hours of every single day. So I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Being busy happens. Being stressed happens. Feeling like you’re over your day long before it ends happens. Being rude to potential customers and showing an “oh well” attitude is not okay.
